Schefenacker plc appoints Ulrich Bruhnke as its new CEO |
Portchester (July 03, 2007) Schefenacker plc, leading supplier of rear vision systems to the automotive industry, has appointed Ulrich Bruhnke, 53, as Chief Executive Office and board member. In addition, Schefenacker Plc has appointed to its board Stephan Kessel as Chairman of the Group and Alfred Schefenacker as a non-executive Director. Ulrich Bruhnke has extensive experience in the automotive industry recently serving as President of BMW M GmbH and as President of Mercedes AMG GmbH. Prior to that, Bruhnke had a long-term career with Mercedes with group responsibilities ranging from engineering to development and design ultimately as Vice President responsible for advanced design, chassis- and electric-/electronic-development. Mr. Bruhnke has been a Professor for Car Body Technology at Stuttgart University since 2005.
Mr. Bruhnke brings to Schefenacker a comprehensive knowledge of automotive operations, a clear understanding of the OEM’s needs, and proven leadership skills. “Mr. Bruhnke has a proven track record of successfully delivering innovation, profitable growth, and strong financial performance. This experience is key to the future success of the Schefenacker Plc group, says Stephan Kessel, Chairman of the Group.
In his efforts to improve the Company’s performance, Mr. Bruhnke will continue to be supported by Stefaan Vansteenkiste and Just Spee from Alvarez & Marsal, a global advisory firm specializing in profit improvement and turnaround management.

The other members of the board of Schefenacker are Tom Evans, Stefaan Vansteenkiste and Antonio Alvarez III.
